Well, this is interesting. I had the wrong setting on my phone camera, and what was supposed to be a clear photo of a view into Washington’s Silver Star Mountain Range from a road near my house turned into something else. But let’s hear it for artistic expression!

Yes, there really is a town called Boring. It’s right next to where I live. But contrary to popular belief, it’s not because we’re boring. It was named for an early pioneer family who came over on the Oregon Trail, and the name has to do with mining. You know, like boring into the deepest caverns of the earth. Continue reading

My blog server was down last night so I couldn’t upload yesterday’s photo. But here it is….

Today I took Hinahina to the vet for a checkup. When we took her several months ago she was having some renal failure problems and I was extremely concerned. But today was a good checkup! Hinahina has gained two pounds on her kidney/canned diet, and her blood test showed improvement too!

I was so happy!

Hinahina, however, was not. Stink eye to da max!

It was a lovely day today; the East Wind was blowing, and all the gray clouds scurried away. And on a sunny, clear, day, the mountain comes out!

I am very fortunate to have several Flickers visiting my suet feeders on a daily basis. I was ready with my camera today, and was able to get this close-up of one of them. Last year Mr and Mrs Flicker raised their babies here, and now both babies come around too!

I’m pleased with the detail in this photo.

Today during knitting time at Littlelamb and Ewe, Ellie, the adorable shop kitten, was keeping my friend and I entertained by her antics, zooming from one place to another. It was hard to get knitting done because I was having so much fun watching her!

At only three weeks of age, Ellie was dumped off into some bushes at our local college. A friend of Cindy’s (Cindy and her daughter, Katie, own Littlelamb and Ewe) fed and nurtured her for several weeks, saving the little kitten’s life. When Cindy opened the yarn store, she knew she needed to have a shop kitty, and that’s where Ellie, now healthy, came to live.

Today Ellie decided to pay me a visit as I was knitting, so I decided to make her part of Project 365. She is a love!

I saw these clouds today and they looked like gigantic marshmallows, so I pulled over and stopped the car and snapped the photo. But I forgot that I was taking the photo through the tinted part of my windshield so I ended up with a pretty surrealistic effect, especially with the sun in it.

Taken on Highway 26 East just past Hillyard Road.

I was running all over the place today and didn’t have any time to take a photo, but as I came home from my wanderings today I saw this bush at the bottom of our pasture. It’s covered with moss (typical for an Oregon winter), and seemed photo-worthy. One thing about doing the Project 365 is that it’s helping me to pay more attention to things around me, and for that, I’m very grateful.

I was really lucky to get this shot; I’m not sure if you can see it, but when I took the photo of the hummingbird, I suddenly realized that I could see her little tongue sipping the sugar water right through the side of the feeder!! Whoot!!

Ho, I’ve been so busy today that I almost didn’t get this uploaded till late! Today I went to one of my local yarn stores; I got some yarn that needed to be wound. Littlelamb and Ewe has an electric swift and yardage counter, and a bambucha ball winder. While the yarn was winding, the swift was making weird shadows on the wall, so I decided that this would be my photo of the day. It’s actually kinda neat. And isn’t the shawl pretty up on the wall?
