Yes, there really is a town called Boring. It’s right next to where I live. But contrary to popular belief, it’s not because we’re boring. It was named for an early pioneer family who came over on the Oregon Trail, and the name has to do with mining. You know, like boring into the deepest caverns of the earth.

Here’s where I pick up the mail. My town of Damascus has no post office, so this is where I come for my mail.
And here’s the post office, set among towering Douglas fir trees. This is where I pick up all my fiber and yarn and sometimes good kine stuffs from back home.
