…I am not a morning person. I see photos of gorgeous sunrises that others take, but I rarely see sunrises. Well, it doesn’t help that our place faces makai, so we see stunning sunsets, for which I’m very grateful. As a matter of fact, when we first looked at this house prior to buying it, we were greeted by one of the most amazing sunsets I’ve ever seen…which helped to clinch the deal for us.
But yesterday I had to get up early, so was able to see some of yesterday’s lovely sunrise, which colored the sky across the valley.
And speaking of Olson’s red barn…it looked so peaceful there in the early morning light.
I’m glad I got to see this. It was definitely worth getting up early for.
I love this time of year when sunrise is later. I don’t get up for the EARLY ones come summertime!
That’s why I love reading your blog… you do the getting up early for me! Well, and there’s the sheep, and the views, and the bowls, too, of course!
In my youth, I was a night person. As I get older, I am becoming a morning person. I voluntarily get up on weekends just half-an-hour later than I do on weekdays. Aue. (I am following the same progression as my dad. As a college student, he wrote his best papers in the wee small hours of the morning. Now he wakes up at 5 am. If he’s playing golf that day, he wakes up even earlier.)
I used to be a ‘way night person; I’d stay up till midnight or 1 a.m. with an ideal wake-up time of 9 a.m.or so. But lately I’ve been going moemoe much earlier, like in bed by 10 pm. I wake up a little earlier, too. So surprised by how long morning lasts now! Ha! But 5am? I doubt that will ever happen.
