Last Thursday Julie and I did some spinning out on the deck again. The weather was wonderful, bright sun shining, birds singing, leaves of the Oregon Big-Leaf Maple rustling in the breeze.

Last year we had almost no blackberries to speak of; the ones we did have were small and had almost no flavor. So this year I waited anxiously for what I hoped would be a better season.

My dear friend Julie came over today; she picked me up where my car was getting a lube/oil. We’d planned to do some spinnin’ out on the deck, and spinnin’ we did. No, not on bikes. Spinnin’ wheels!
