Forgot to add that I’m spinning this awesome BFL/Silk from Raven Ridge Fiber in the “Pine Bark” colorway. It’s my first time spinning this fiber combo and I just love it. It practically spins itself.

I love old kitchen utensils. I love the thought that they’ve been used by different generations of women (mostly, I think), and that their hands have used them to cook things for their ʻohana.
Recently, when Nolemana and I were at an antique store on a road trip (more about that when I stay pau with the 2010 Montana Road Trip (ho, not even halfway pau yet!), I found this wonderful whisk da kine for only $2.00. I snatched it up. Cuz u know wat? Going be perfect foa making haupia! Whoot!

I’ve seen this rig around my area a number of times, but this is the first time I’ve seen it parked. I hurried around the corner after parking my own kawila and took this photo on October 11th.

It’s an old Dodge truck, but it’s also a motor home, and I’m not sure what else. It looks kinda other-worldly and alien, but it also looks pretty dang cool.
Now I wish I’d gone behind it and taken another photo. Oh well. At least I got photos!

This is what I did today: watched Saucer and Dan pull the pumpkin wagon out to the pumpkin patch at Olson Farm in Damascus, This is one of my favorite autumn treats!
Love to see them trotting up the hill. It’s quite a workout for them!
K’den. Today’s post, we go back to May, 2010, and our journey to Montana. This is going to be an exciting post! But first I’ll tell you that the photo I took in the last post from this year was a young elk. Way to go, AFK and Debra!
Here in May, 2010, we are in Idaho, near the 3 Devils Picnic Area. You can see how we’re really in the mountainous, forested, area of Idaho.
We just got back from an incredible eleven days in Montana. Yes, again. And here I haven’t even finished our 2010 adventures!
To say that it was an amazing time is an understatement. We drove from home to Whitefish, Montana, drove the Going to the Sun Highway, headed to Bozeman and my ʻohana, drove the Beartooth Highway and back to Bozeman through Yellowstone, from there to West Yellowstone where we spent a couple of days, one of which was back in Yellowstone, and from there on back home.
Mo betta I hurry up and finish 2010, yeah, so I can share da photos from dis trip too! But hea one preview foa u folks. Click on da photo an try guess wat is.
Graphics intensive post this time!!
Today we’re starting off with another history lesson. A sad one. We were just leaving Kamiah, and this “Bridge Across the Bitteroots” sign showed us just where we were and where we were headed.
I had a really cool comment on this post I did a bunch of years ago, all about my curiosity about Pumpernickel Valley in Nevada.
This post has gotten tons of comments, some of them giving me added information about the place. But today’s comment really excited me, because David, the guy who left the comment, had actually lived there!
Try read his comments, the last one in the post. Fascinating stuff!! Thanks so much, David, for taking the time to write all this down and leaving your comment for others to read.
