Montana Road Trip 2010, Chapter Thirty-Two

Okay, pau stink bugs and kawila stuffs. Let’s get back to Montana Road Trip, k? (Even though now I have ukubillion Box Elder Beetles as well as stink bugs on my windows and screens. Sheesh.)

I made a few changes to the last Montana post because my photos weren’t in order; what I thought was the Ranger Station at the top of Lolo Pass wasn’t. It was really the Dena Mora Rest Area. But now it’s all fixed.

It’s Pumpkin Time in Damascus

Before we head back to Montana, here are two videos that I took Friday and Saturday at Olson Farms here in Damascus.  Enjoy!

Kurt and Roman are two new Percherons.  Sadly, Danny died recently (he was ready for retirement), and Saucer is retired. These new guys are even bigger than them, and it sure was fun watching them. I hope to get back next weekend to take a better video.

And For Some Small Kine Humor…

So today I was heading makai on Highway 212; on the 2-lane part of the highway in Damascus, I was getting tailgated something fierce. And I had no where to get off the road. I was driving Nolemana’s kawila since mine was still at the body shop; it sits a lot lower than mines one, so I couldn’t really get a good look at the driver.

Poor Kawila

Yesterday I had to go to da Auto Body shop to get something out of my kawila. And while I was there, I could see them working on it, so I got to take some broke down kine photos. Poor ting, yeah? These mark the scratches along the side as well as the fender that had to be fixed.

“The Bug From Hell”

Holy crap. We’re being invaded by stink bugs. They are miserable and invasive, and they’re driving me crazy.  Somehow they manage to get into the house through our screen doors. And who knows where else.

Shipping a Spinning Wheel, Chapter Two

About two weeks later, Debbie was ready to have the wheel shipped. Keola graciously gave up his daytime perch, and allowed us to move it.

Shipping a Spinning Wheel

I don’t have the next Montana Road Trip photos ready yet, so will post this instead. For those of you who wanna learn something about shipping a spinning wheel, this is the place to be.

A wahine in my Joe Jorgensen Ravelry group wanted to buy a JJ wheel and she found one, right here in Oregon (a friend of mine was selling hers). Only problem…Debbie lives in Georgia, and Kay, my friend, was swamped with extremely important family stuff and didn’t have the time to pack up the wheel and ship it, so I volunteered to help out.  Continue reading

Temporary Wheels

I took my kawila up to the dealer’s to get the sliding door fixed (yep, it’s under warranty!) on Tuesday. They thought it’d take about three hours, so I went prepared with knitting to while away the time. After about an hour, however, my advisor told me it was gonna take a lot longer to complete; it was a pretty complex repair, and they wanted to make sure they did it right the first time. (Yay, Dick Hannah Chrysler in Vancouver!)  And it was going to take till the end of the day, and they didn’t think I’d want to wait that long. True dat.
