Daily hummingbird.
Another artsy-fartsy hummingbird photo.

February 22nd

Freezing in da cold.
Daily hummingbird.
Love the view of Olson’s red barn across the valley.
Still doing Wordle.
I started spinning this gorgeousness.
And loving it!!

February 23rd

My friend brought over a space heater. It was so good to see her and Rufus.
Daily hummingbird.
Yep. Freezing cold for realz. At this point, morning temps inside our house have been right around 50°! I can’t stop shivering.

February 24th

Oh look! It’s warming up!
It snowed last night!
Sunshine Valley snow.
Hungry Goldfinches. There were three times this many at all the feeders.
Snow in the rain gauge.
Daily hummingbird.
Snow in the emerging daffies.
Heading down the driveway to Nolemana’s retinology appointment.
Tree in the parking lot where I wait for Nolemana.
And of course, even though it was freezing outside, we had to stop in Lake Oswego for shave ice at Mānoa Shave Ice. This time it was too cold for ice cream at the bottom (did that last time and ho da ʻono!) This time I got the special Mānoa flavor: lilikoʻi and blue coconut; Nolemana got the root beer float one. We sat in front of the warm fireplace to whack these down. This shop is such a bright spot in the area: not just for the real Hawaiian shave ice, but for its friendliness and comfortable place for a respite from the day’s busyness. All the decorations remind me of home.
This wonderful photo is of Waʻahila Ridge; we could see it from our house all the time I was growing up. One of the wonderful things about coming here is that the owner and I grew up in Mānoa Valley, and it’s so fun to talk story about our beloved valley.

February 25th

Daily hummingbird. Zoomies.
The Robins are back! We’ve had a few here during the winter, but now we have plenny!

Lovely pics, as ever! I’m glad someone else loves to eat ice cream when it’s freezing out hahaha

Beautiful photos! So ironic that you are shivering inside while daffodils are popping up outside.

Thank you so much. Yeah, it was definitely ironic. I’m glad it’s warmed up some, but am still grateful for the fire and space heaters.

Thank you for sharing another batch of beautiful photos. The fiber you’re spinning is just gorgeous. And I’m impressed that you’re smiling even when you’re sooooo cold!

I only smiled for a second while Nolemana took the photo. I tried one not smiling and I looked awful! Mahalo for your constant presence here on my manini kine bloggie.
