I love all the birds that come to our feeders, and I love that I have a new camera I can take really good close-ups with. This flicker is a regular visitor to the suet that I put up; last year he and his wife raised a baby, and I got a couple of great shots of two of them together.
For some reason, and maybe it’s just my imagination, the flicker’s colors seem much brighter this year. I hope he and his wife bring their offspring around during the summer!
I love flickers. I heard them before I ever saw one up close. The first one I saw was on the ground pecking at ants. I was captivated; he was nervous. Your flicker is VERY handsome. Great picture, Moki-chan!
It simply amazes me how God set each feather so perfectly in line. What a job for the flicker to preen and set straight all the feathers. How beautifully adorned they are.
He is beautiful!!! Great photography!!!
I love seeing him so close up. wow
