April Sunset

The first time Nolemana walked into our hale [house] when it was on the market, we knew it was ours. It had everything we wanted, with the exception of a flat, sunny area for my veggie garden.

As we finished looking at it, we came back into the living room, which looks out over the valley. And we saw a sunset very similar to this one.

It was as if ke Akua [God] was smiling down on us, bathing us in His light.

The sunset got more and more nani [beautiful], and it was like a promise that the hale would be ours. It took some doing (the hale was in foreclosure proceedings), and at one point we thought we would lose it. But we’ve been here almost twenty years now, and the sunsets continue to bathe us with this kind of loveliness.

All I can say is GORGEOUS! Any place with an unobstructed view is worth it, but with a sunset panorama like that? Priceless!
