Pickled Crabapples On A Rainy Oregon Day, Part Two

The first batch of crabapples are pau! I haven’t tasted them yet, but they sure look good! I have one more batch to do, and that will be it for the year. I found out that my friend Steph has a real crabapple tree, and next year we’ll do a trade: fresh for pickled. Sounds like a plan to me!

Here are the crabapples in the canner.

And here is the finished product!

I got 5 quarts, and will probably end up with about 12 total.

Ho da nani!!

They look perfect, don’t they? It would be great if you could slap your label on the jars and open up a little vendor stand somewhere. “Auntie Crabby’s Apples” LOL
