Keola Meets Noelani, Part Two

I have a little bit of time so thought I would get an update done. I appreciate everyoneʻs patience while I am in caregiver role big time. Last time I posted, Keola was just about to meet Noelani. So letʻs see what happened.

We brought the cat carrier into the living room. Keola was lying on the back of the couch, and boy, did his eyes get big. Talk about fish eye!!

He ran right over to it, and kept moving so fast that it was hard to take a clear photo!

He didn’t know what to do!

They sniffed noses. And there was no hissing!!

He wasn’t sure exactly what was going on, but he wasn’t upset at all. I was amazed.

Next, he just sat back for a second.

Then he decided to walk around to the side of the carrier.

Things seemed to be going pretty well, so we let Noelani out of the carrier. She came out in a blur of motion! (She absolutely HATES carriers!) The look on Keola’s face was priceless.

He sniffed the top of her head.

Then he hid under the chair.

Then he came out and sniffed her again. Noelani was just as calm as could be. She didn’t hiss either! We never heard a single growl or hiss, and no fangs or claws came out. Unbelievable!

More obligatory sniffing, and Noelani took it all in stride.

The end result? His expression says it all.

I just sat there in stunned silence. I could hardly believe that they were immediate friends. I was so grateful!

Next time I’ll post more photos about their first day together.
