Let’s see. How many days I stay stuck up hea? Nine? Ten? Da snow is beginning to look like one padded cell!
Da rain has started and slowly da snow stay melting. But when you get dis much snow, going take long time. Try look Kukui:
Wat! No look too deep? Try look dis one!
Dis guy, Dan, used his Bobcat to plow da snow on our neighbor’s flat driveway. $150. Worth it to them cuz they get one farm/feed store and gotta keep it open. Dan wen tell Nolemana he could plow our driveway foa $300. We was going wait till da rain melted da snow, but ho, our appraisal ordahs stay piling up; peeps in S. California and Texas no undastand dis kine snow and dey want dea appraisals! So we wen arrange foa Dan da Man to come ova; he’s been plowing all day, ‘way past midnight, all ova da place. Making some good money; and out in dis stuff, he deserves it. I had my doubts dat he was going make it past da curve, but Nolemana said he should be able to.
So lass night he wen come hea about 9:30 and wen get straight to work! Whoot! He get this Bobcat wea da cab and da bucket swivels, so no need turn around lidat. Back and forth he wen go; we wen stand out on da deck and watch his progress in da dark.
Suddenly we wen see him go back down da road and load da Bobcat onto da truck! Wassup wit dat?
Nolemana’s phone wen ring. Dan wen tell him dat he wen get to da curve and wen start sliding backwards! Even in da Bobcat! Da only way he could doyem now was to come back wit one big tractor… $500.
Wat we going do? We gotta get outa hea; we stay running out of essentials, and da snow too deep foa walk down in, even if da neighbors could get stuffs foa us. Nolemana says once in twenty years not so bad to have to pay it. I figgah, amortized ova twenty years, dats twenty-five bucks a year. Not so bad dat way, yeah? Of course, we get oil foa our furnace coming on Monday to da tune of $1200.
So we gotta get out. We gotta work. I think I might be getting one tiny bit of cabin fevah and mo bettah dey get me outa dis snow wea I can see peepo and talk stories wit my friends and I nevah seen any odda face but Nolemana’s foa ten days now and I stay running outa milk so cannot make my morning latte and somebody bettah do something quick cuz I been stuck hea foa so long I nevah even boddah brush my hair and I stare out into alla whiteness and no way Nolemana and I could do Da Amazing Race and hakum dat first photo wen come so big and I can see da guys in da white coats comin’ foa me cuz I getting kinda lolo in dis padded snow room. No lettum take me away!!
Soooo expensive, but one has to do what one needs to do. You don’t want to lose all the work, plus if Nole needs medication too… And yes, you need out of there. I bet you didn’t know you were such a social person and would get cabin fever so quickly. LOL
oh my….this sounds serious, even though it is very beautiful. When I got to the need milk for coffee part-I was right with ya. Don’t know what I’d do if I was stuck with out my half and half!! I’m not sure where you are exactly, but we got dumped on a week a go. Today it’s 50 degrees. Lots of ice-hate it-and of course, still snow here and there.
Hope you get out okay!
~Debra
Actually, it’s not the socializing part that gives me da oogies… it’s more the frustration of running outa stuffs, not being able to get to da gym, etc. Socializing is part of it, I guess… but since I’m an introvert not as much as it would be foa odda peeps.
Yikes! Have you run out of yarn! Knit knit knit! I knew there was a reason I moved back home.
Aisus! Freedom is worth the price of plowing da driveway. It’s a tough price to pay (no pun intended) but we’re thankful that you can guys can pay it (plus being able to get out will enable you guys to earn more kala).
Oh wow! That’s alot of snow! I have never seen that much snow in my life..if you can believe it!
Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas my friend!
Can u send some of dat stuff ovah hea? We need some. Stay freezin’ hea about 28 degrees lid’at an da wind no help. U shua u not in Germany an we stay in Oregon?
I hear ya!
At least it’s a good time to knit.
I haven’t been out of the house for a few weeks now, and tomorrow I ESCAPE!
