At about 10:30 p.m., we wen pull into da motel wea we had reservations, da Best Western in Red Bluff, CA. We alla time get good experiences wit Best Western, and I coulda chosen one in Redding.

But da reason I wen choose dis one, was dis:

Yep! Dey have dis fabulous aviary full of tropical manu, and when I wen see dat on da list of amenities, I made da reservation and quit searching.

By da time we wen pull in, da aviary stay dark and alla manu stay moemoe. But da next morning, we wen hear da chorus from da parakeets, lovebirds, cockatiels and Zebra Finches. Was awesome! We wen get our breakfast from da continental breakfast bar, and wen eat next to da aviary, watching alla manu flying around. Was already about 84 degrees, and was nice just being dea.

Den dis litto boy who was staying dea wit his dad and siblings wen tell me dat get eggs in da cockatiel nest box. So afta a few unsuccessful attempts, I finally wen get a few photos.

And hea stay Mommy Cockatiel.

Was so hot awreddy, she wen get off da eggs so dey no get too hot.

I wen take plenny photos of da aviary.

Try look da parakeets.

Da parakeets so fun to watch, alla dem flying around and chattering.

And dis fabulous lovebird!

Just around da cornah was dis wonderful koi pond.

Da koi were huge!! And so nani, swimming lazily around in da pool.

I coulda stayed and watched dem foreva!

Had dis ‘way kewl fountain, too.

Had some of da prettiest koi I eva wen see.

Was so hard foa me to leave nā manu and da koi. But Nolemana wen tell me we had foa get going, cuz still get one long drive ahead of us. Reluctantly I wen agree. But if I eva go Red Bluff again, I going stay hea!

Pau checking out, we wen take photos of dese nani Crape Myrtles at da motel across da road. Dey all stay in full bloom, everywea we wen look, had da Myrtles in all kine colors.

Ho da nani, yeah?

I no could get ova how brilliant da colors.

Next, we head to Walnut Creek wea we going have lunch wit Nolemana’s sistah dem. Get plenny dry land between hea and dea but.
