Pau. Finished. All done. El producto final. Eh! Pau da sweatah! Nolemana’s sweater is finished! Yesterday at Hawaiian Beanz I sewed in the “Made with love by… ” label. After that, there was nothing else I had to do but wrap it up. I gave it to him for Father’s Day and his birthday (this coming Saturday). It’s a funny feeling, knowing the sweater is pau. I’m not sure what I feel. Triumphant, yes, considering all the pilikia I had with the first sleeve. But kinda let down, too.
I didn’t think I’d feel this way and it surprises me. I thought I’d be light on my feet doing the happy dance when I took that final stitch. I thought I’d be relieved and tired of working on it.
It almost feels like I’ve lost a friend. How lolo is that? I’ve been working on the sweater for so long! I’ve knit on it at Bible Study, at Hawaiian Beanz (nee Aloha Espresso), at home, and at our Small Group. I’ve knit on it in the car while waiting for Nolemana to measure a house while we were doing an appraisal and at church. And now it’s pau. It’s out of my knitting bag and will disappear into his drawer until it’s cool enough to wear it in the Fall. I wonder how many stitches are in it.
I guess I’ll have to start another one! In the meantime, here it is. My first sweater. Pau. I feel good.
And it fits!
yippeee!!! pau, anden fabulous fit, and a great job too…nice length on the sleeves too : )

Nice Job!! I am getting inspired to finish up my hubby’s sweater. It has been on a very long time out. Hey big question. Do you knit in church? This is of great debate in my little circle. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.
Mahalo Pehea `Oe… yes, the 18th was my birthday. Mahalo for the good wishes!
Des, I emailed you my long answer about knitting in church. To me, it’s okay as long as it’s obvious to others that we’re paying attention to what’s going on around us.
