September 11th
I’ll never forget how our daughter Leilani woke us up twenty-three years ago (can it really be that long ago?) urgently telling us to turn on the TV. Everything stopped that day. We didn’t do any work at all, just sat mesmerized in front of the TV. It was a terrible day, and I think about all the heroes who jumped right in, trying to save as many people as possible. And watching in horror as people jumped out of the buildings.
This photo of Kalakoa peacefully sleeping was a better start to this day.
