I was really lucky to get this shot; I’m not sure if you can see it, but when I took the photo of the hummingbird, I suddenly realized that I could see her little tongue sipping the sugar water right through the side of the feeder!! Whoot!!

Ho, I’ve been so busy today that I almost didn’t get this uploaded till late! Today I went to one of my local yarn stores; I got some yarn that needed to be wound. Littlelamb and Ewe has an electric swift and yardage counter, and a bambucha ball winder. While the yarn was winding, the swift was making weird shadows on the wall, so I decided that this would be my photo of the day. It’s actually kinda neat. And isn’t the shawl pretty up on the wall?

Okay, I’m kinda cheating because I didn’t take this photo. However, today is my youngest daughter’s birthday, and I wanted to commemorate the day by using her photo. Every year, I tell her her birthday story, the story of the day she was born. It is a yearly ritual that I do for both of my daughters, and I am unbelievably happy that they want to hear it as much as I love to tell it.

Anela was born eleven days before a tragic event in my life, and having this precious baby just then was part of my healing. I held her close, along with her sister, and thanked God that I could keep going because of them.

Hauʻoli Lā Hānau, Anela, my beloved girl. I love you!

Another fibery day today. I wound this handspun yarn (yes, by me!) into a ball so that I could start knitting with it. My swift (da kine that goes ’round and ’round and counts yardage for me) worked great and I think I’ll have about 400 yards of yarn to knit with. I want to make sure I’m calculating the yardage right before I do the other little skein.

This is some lovely Targhee fiber from Sweet Grass Wools in Montana in the “Swirl” colorway. Once I know how many yards I have, I’ll know what I can knit with it.

Today Nolemana and I drove all the way out to Carlton to the Fabulous Fiber Fair. It was its first year, so it was fairly small, but that was fine with me. I got to see friends, fondle lots of fiber, and inhale the wonderful atmosphere. This is just one photo that I took to show all the fibery goodness.

I was at the gym today and a big flock of Canada Geese flew by; I’d so hoped to get a good photo of them for today’s photo, but they were just too far away and the photo was major blurry. So instead, I give you another kitty in the cat bed photo. I love Noelani’s look of content and the way Keola is watching over her with that quizzical expression on his face!

This afternoon I was working here at my desk; Kalakoa went to her well, it belongs to whoever gets there first bed, and she looked so cute in in that I decided it was her turn for the photo of the day.

Today The Gathering met at Littlelamb and Ewe yarn shop in Gresham for some knitting, music, and companionship. The upstairs area is just perfect for gathering with friends, decompressing from a busy day/week, or just having some quiet knitting time.

On a back wall is this wonderful rug, so I chose it for my photo of the day.

Today I headed back down to Canby for my monthly spinning day with my wonderful friend, and as always, I stopped by Willamette Falls to take a photo. My friend and I had a fabulous day together, spinning, talking, and enjoying each other’s company as our two wheels happily whirred along.

Today I got an email from our vet reminding me that it’s Keola’s birthday month, so I thought it only fitting that he should be the photo of the day. He is two years old this month. It’s hard to believe I got him at the shelter a year and a half ago already! I fell in love with his mustached face, chubby cheeks, and big eyes. Happy birthday, my boy!
