Trying to Catch Up…April

Well, it’s been a minute, hasn’t it? A family member has has some pretty serious stuff going on, so my mind has been elsewhere. After over a month in the hospital and with some long-term healing needing to happen, he’s finally home and my mind is relieved a bit. So here I am.

We’ve had some pretty spectacular sunsets this month.

I saw this train going by in Milwaukie.

We had visitors to our pasture and forest.

We were still able to do food deliveries each week.

I spun a bunch of yarn from textured batts from FatCatKnits, my favorite dyer.

A mama robin hit our window, and thanks to my wildlife rehab experience, I was able to release her to her friends after about an hour. She joined them, and they all happily flew off together. And yes, I was holding her very gently.

Guess what this is!

Our neighbors cutting down years of blackberries.

Speaking of years, this is the first time my African Violet has bloomed in many of them. I’m so pleased!

And yes, I’m still doing the daily hummingbird. Or is this an F-15?

I’m so thrilled that I got this Hoaka moon!

Oh, how I love Dogwoods!

Hahaha! A friend of mine and I, about ten years ago, calculated that we’d been asked this question about 45,000 times over the years.

More humor.

I’m glad to hear your family member’s health is heading in the right direction. So scary.

So glad you were able to help that poor mama robin. She’s so lucky you were there!

Dat guy with da goat is one GOAB: greatest of all bullsh**ers. What a bunch of nonsense. My guess is he’s a former lawyer–lawyers looooove to argue about definitions. (I say that as someone who worked with lawyers for years.)

I miss dogwoods and sakura and all the beautiful spring flowers. And ho da nani, your sunsets! I get some beautiful sunrises, but I’m facing da wrong way for sunsets nowadays.

And I think that furry thing is one pōpoki ōkole.

Oh, I love that: GOAB. It’s hard to believe so ridiculous!!

I bet you miss all the NW dogwoods and sakura… I look forward to them each year. The dogwoods are so nani right now. I’m glad you get up early to see the sunrises… I’ll keep sending you sunset photos.

You’re right!! It IS one pōpoki ōkole! Good for you! Kalakoa was lying on me and I couldn’t resist taking the photo.
