I’ll never forget how our daughter Leilani woke us up twenty-three years ago (can it really be that long ago?) urgently telling us to turn on the TV. Everything stopped that day. We didn’t do any work at all, just sat mesmerized in front of the TV. It was a terrible day, and I think about all the heroes who jumped right in, trying to save as many people as possible. And watching in horror as people jumped out of the buildings.
This photo of Kalakoa peacefully sleeping was a better start to this day.

Spinning “Magnolia” by FatCatKnits.
We were eating dinner tonight when all of a sudden out of nowhere, came this huge gust of wind! It lasted not even a minute, but this is what it did. Fortunately, the sunflowers were still okay, though Nolemana had to stake up a couple of them.

I love that photo of Kalakoa on da kitty sheets. Your lanai is beautiful–so colorful and full of life. My favorite Aunty loved sunflowers too, and I think of her every time I see one.
That cloud shot from 9/11 is stunning, and the sunlit zinnia is so pretty!
Thanks, Michelle… I’m glad I was there when the clouds did that.
