The sweet barista at the coffee shop thought it was my birthday today (it wasn’t), but I love the sweet note she put on my peppermint matcha cup!

Well shoots. Dunno what it is… cold or ? It feels like a regular cold and not like Covid. But I’m back to feeling junk again. Sure didn’t need this!

Still feeling junk, but again, not nearly as bad as with Covid. Two doctors told me not to bother testing because I could show positive for a month. And since the tests cost $10.00, why waste the money? In the meantime, I’m isolating and being very careful around Nolemana. It happened to him, too, but not as bad.
Daily hummingbird.Today’s excitement: Amazon, Jake2 and daily pīpī all at the same time.Tomatoes!!Jake2 goes into the barn so of course nā pīpī follow him.Trumpet Lilies.. Love their colors!Four oʻclocks and sunflowers coming up.More tomatoes!

Today is my beloved Dad’s birthday. Gone oh, ‘way too soon. This is a photo of him in downtown Honolulu, taken by a street photographer. The pain of losing him never goes away.
A photo of the two of us.
Daily hummingbird.Blooming cactus. It is definitely on its own schedule.Daily pīpī.I finished spinning this glorious batt.Lavender!

Aue, I’m sorry you’re feeling junk again. If you took Paxlovid, I’ve heard rebound is a thing. I can’t say it’s common, but we know people who have experienced it. I hope your popoki and pua helped to make you feel better.
I think it must’ve been a Paxlovid rebound thing because it was two weeks after Covid. At first, though, I really thought it was just a cold. The kitties and flowers definitely helped!
I miss my dad so much. I’m glad I have those two photos.
You’re right on both counts and I stand corrected again. They bloom ‘way longer than a day. Trumpet lilies and the blend into Aurelian hybrids, right? I was careless in naming them. Again.
Moki-chan, you have an Android phone, right? Open the lily photo on your phone. In your photo app, look at the bottom–if your phone is like mine, it will have four icons: “Share,” “Edit,” “Lens,” and “Delete.” Choose Lens. Google Lens will search the web for images that look like yours. Some of the choices aren’t great (I consistently get “flower” when I try to identify species of cherry blossom), but most of the time, Lens does a good job, sometimes identifying down to the cultivar. This is how I learn the names of flowers in my ‘hood when I go walking. And works for all kinds of images, including birds.
Also in the Lens feature, you can translate from languages you don’t know. I read some Japanese, but when I can’t read something, I try this translation function.
Mahalo nui.. I love Google Lens too, AFK. But duh, I should’ve used it for my lilies. But I didn’t know about translating! I’m so glad you told me about that feature. I’m gonna check out Lens today on my lilies and see what it says. Hopefully, more than “flower”. So glad you told me all this!

I love that photo of you and your Dad. So sweet.

Love the color palette of green, yellow, orange, purple! (I think we’ve been through this before, but your lilies aren’t DAYlilies. 😉)

Ha; I can’t name your lily variety, I only know daylilies! Not as smart as I sounded. 😉

I’ve been looking at photo images of daylilies to educate myself. It’s hard to tell the difference, so you must be pretty smart.
The big and easy difference is in the foliage. Daylilies have clumps of leaves like broad-leaved grass, not stalks with leaves along them like yours.
Thanks! This is really helpful.
