Josh came over and helped us put up our new swallow house!

… and the Violet-Green Swallows are checking it out. I hope they nest here; the last time we had babies, they died in the horrendous 116° heat. I was devastated.

But I did see this one online for AFK.

Wow! Beauty overload! My son in Portland couldn’t see the Aurora Borealis for all the lights sadly! I had friends just a few hours north of me here in California that actually saw them!!! So jealous!
That clematis is stunning. Is that in your yard?
We didn’t see the Aurora either–one bummer about living in the heart of the city. Some friends saw them while they were coming back to Seattle on the ferry on Friday night.
Kalakoa is sooooooo cute! But my guess is she doesn’t want anyone to rub her tummy.
At first I thought those purple flowers were alstromeria, but the leaves were wrong. Google Lens says they’re campanula? Clustered bellflowers, to be exact.
Yes, the clematis is in our entryway and I just love it. And you’re absolutely right about no belly rubs for Kalakoa. She hates it!
Yes, campanula! That’s the one! Mahalo!!
