I think it’s so weird that one neighbor’s place was iced up like our place and the other neighbor’s field had hardly any ice. It may have something to do with all the water that pours down off of our hill.

When I was a volunteer wildlife rehabber, I raised lots and lots of Robins, from tiny babies to release. I’ve always loved them and spent many happy (and tiring!) hours feeding the babies till they could search out and eat food on their own.

I turn the heat down a fraction at night…now I’m all showered and ready for bed. I don’t expect it’ll be much better tomorrow, as cold as it is now. Nite-nite…

Brrrrrr. No wonder da manu love your place–heated birdbath! Non-frozen hummingbird nectar! All dat yummy seed! Good karma on you, Moki-chan.
Awww… mahalo, my friend. When we lived in Idaho it really got cold, but all year long I’d throw out birdseed on our front walk at about 3 pm. The sparrows would wait for me then. So much fun. They really appreciated it in the winters.
Wow; you have a LOT of traffic at your birdfeeders!
We really do and I love it. The Varied Thrush finally came by but I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo of him. Probably because our heat hasn’t been on and I’m so sluggish! (It came back on finally!)
