June 19th

Feisty daily hummingbird not liking the Goldfinch on his perch!
This baby Chestnut-Backed Chickadee bumped into our front window today; I set him up here to check him out and he just sat there, feeties all curled up. He was a little stunned, but seemed to be okay otherwise.
He sat there, recovering. I think he may have just fledged because his feeties looked like they wanted to be in a nest.
His eyes were bright.

And then, oh my gosh, he flew onto my shoulder and just sat there for awhile and graced me with his presence! It was hard to get his photo with my phone, but somehow I managed to get this one.

Ho da kewt, yah? After about five minutes, he flew off into a nearby tree. This encounter made my day!! What a gift!
I capped off the day with this sunset photo.
