365 Days, Numbah Sixty-Nine

Well, only one day late!

December 26th.

Daily hummingbird.
I finished a pair of handwarmers for a friend.
Christmas Cactus in full bloom.
Daily hummingbird and fog over the valley.
There’s still ice left at our neighbors’ place.
Our house is up there somewhere.
Noah in the Christmas hat I knit for him. He is so cute!
Christmas lights and fog. I thought they looked kinda cool.
Christmas lights and a wet deck.

December 27th

Daily hummingbird.

Just before I left for Gresham, our power went out. Is this why?

Uh-oh. On my way to Gresham. I don’t know if you can see it, but the downed trunk is on the wires.
Big yikes!

This awesome sleigh was in the waiting area at Heidi’s in Gresham, where I met friends for brunch.

This collage is also from the waiting area. See the trains ontop the display case? And try look all the nutcrackers!
My blintzes. So yummy!! And I had enough left over to take home.
Our power was still out and we were so grateful for the woodstove. Fortunately, it wasn’t nearly as cold as during Icemageddon, but the house was still chilly.
Terrible photo of lights from a crew working on the downed tree trunk and wires.

December 28th

Both lanes of the road were open this morning, but the wires were still down. So this wasn’t the cause of our power outage. I’m always so extremely grateful for the line crews cleaning up after a storm. They worked in the cold and dark. The flaggers do the same and I always wave to them as I go by.
New Year’s (almost) brunch with 11 friends. Our hostess did an amazing job making us feel welcome.

All of the branches were out of the road when I came home. It must’ve been so scary to the people across the road when this giant came down.

This is what our driveway looked like on my way up.
Daily hummingbird.

December 29th

Daily hummingbird on another foggy day.
Our driveway after the windstorm. Looking down this time.
Crews and flaggers hard at work getting the power lines back up again.
Food deliveries.
Loved seeing this on the back window of a car today!
Tons of Robins on our neighbors’ yard today!
Daily hummingbird as the fog moves back in.

December 30th

Daily hummingbird and no fog!
I love this quote!!
Windstorm damage next door to the gym.

December 31st.

Whew! I made it!

Seagulls at Red Sunset Park where my sweet daughter Leilani and I met today.
New Year’s Eve daily hummingbird.

And that’s a wrap for 365 Days 2022. Will I do this again next year? Dunno yet. Probably.

Thank you for so much happy distraction. At the end of a busy day it’s lovely to relax with a glimpse of a different life in a different place, lived with kindness and happiness. (And the hummingbirds are delightful!)
