365 Days, Numbah Forty

July 26th

I’m trying really hard to get caught up with my 365 Days posts, because we actually took a 2-day road trip on 11-12 of August and I want to post the photos from that!

Flicker and Grosbeak at the same feeder!
More plying. I’m eager to see how this skein turns out.
Kinda hard to spin with Kalakoa’s tail in my face!
Lookee… another color change!
I was plying on a hot day, and the Mylar blinds were down, but try look this! Daily hummingbird in the hanging basket.
And yet another color change!
Ho da hot!!
Light refraction on the wall as the sun was going down.

July 27th

Mt Hood from Scouters Mountain Park today. Wildfire smoke from California was definitely present.
All kine berries from Olson Farms!
More plying is happening.
One bobbin had more yarn on it than the other one, so I wound the rest of it on this spiffy Andean plying tool from Gift of Grace Handspun. I’d be lost without this!
I love when the Daisies bloom!
Daily hummingbird.
And two of them!

July 28th

Baby Flicker and its mom.
“Feed me!!!”
Food delivery day… ho da radishes!
We had a lot of yellow squash today.
And some manini kine heirloom tomatoes.
Then I took Nolemana to the retinologist and sat next to “my” tree. It was so stinkin’ hot and I tried to stay cool by sitting in its shade.
Then we cooled off at Mānoa Shave Ice. It’s always our reward. I got an extra reward because I’d sat out in the major hot car: I got ice cream in the bottom of mines one.
Daily hummingbird.
And here’s my finished skein!!! What do you think?

July 29th

Cool spiderweb outside our back door.
Daily hummingbird.

July 30th

Daily hummingbird.
Another gratis action shot. This one’s not too blurry.
Our first zucchini! However, I’ve discovered that I’m incredibly allergic to the leaves and get a horrible rash if they touch me. I actually ended up having to get a prescription for the rash I got picking this. From now on I’ll wear long sleeves around them!
‘Way too hot!!

I love how your food deliveries include so much fresh produce. And your beautiful yarn looks like mixed shave ice!

    • Mokihana says:

Oh, mahalo, Michelle!! I hadn’t thought of that, but you’re right about the shave ice! We never know what kind of produce we’ll get… last week it was three boxes of lemons!

  2. AFK says:

I don’t know which I like better–your beautiful yarn or Michelle’s comment about how it looks like shave ice! So `ono looking, yourses shave ice! And you’re right–too danged hot.

    • Mokihana says:
