Even though the Tour de France isn’t for a few months yet, the spinning community has started our Tour de Fleece at the usual Tour de France time. I’ve begun spinning a silk/merino fiber. I’ve never spun pure silk before and it’s definitely a challenge. I’ve finished one bobbin and am starting the second.
Keola doesn’t seem to be too impressed.
That color is gorgeous. And the yarn is pretty too! 😉
Mahalo nui, my friend. I should name it Kona Sunset.
You could name it “Ka`anapali Sunset” after this Herb Ohta Jr. song:
Herb tells this great story of playing music at Napili Kai Resort. Lots of diners would take their photos, and Herb and whoever he was playing music with would mug and pose for the camera. Until one diner asked them to move so he could take a picture of the sunset! I think Herb composed this song to remind him to stay humble. It’s a very simple song, but Herb’s superb technique makes it amazing.
Done!! Mahalo nui for the suggestion. Herbʻs technique is amazing and I really appreciate you posting this!
