Just pau my latest knee surgery, when I was up walking during the middle of the night, I began remembering all kine stories from my life. Yeah, it was probably the Oxy because my head was full of them…but I thought I really should get some of them written down. They’re only small kine stories, short and sweet, but watdaheck, they’re part of my life. Maybe someday when I’m really makule lidat, I can come back here and read them as if for the first time. LOL.
So here’s the first one. Nolemana and I were living in a small rented house in Twin Falls, Idaho. We loved living there while we did. But ho, this local girl was not used to cold temperatures like we had there in winter. I wasn’t even used to furnaces!! We had an oil furnace that lived down in the basement, which was only a dirt area underneath the house.
Sometimes in the middle of winter, the wind would start blowing, and it could blow really hard. When it did, our furnace pilot light would go out…and therefore, the furnace wouldn’t work. And guess what? When it was -15° outside, in the middle of the night, we would be freezing! We couldn’t call out the gas company to re-light the furnace because, well yeah, it was the middle of the night, and they were the ones who had to do it. So we’d bundle up in all the blankets we had, shivering, until morning came and we could make that all important phone call. Oh, the sweet relief when the furnace came back on!!
Small kine story, yeah? But I did get it written down!
