Small Kine Detour

While I’m getting the last road trip bunch of photos done, I thought I’d post a diversion for while you’re waiting. I think AFK’s gonna like this one!

But first, here’s some luscious Rambouillet fiber that I bought at Wynona Studios in Oregon City yesterday. I’ve never spun Rambouillet before and can’t wait to get started on it. After, of course, I’ve spun other stuff that’s been waiting for quite awhile.

The colorway is called “Meltdown”. I don’t know what it is destined to be knit into. It will tell me later.

The other day I was driving out to Beavercreek to meet with friends of mine, and saw these longhorns peacefully grazing. I snapped their photo with my phone; wish I’d had my camera with me! Just for you, AFK!

I cropped it so you could see mo bettah. Enjoy!

Love dem pipi! I’ve never seen longhorns outside of a zoo – how exciting. Mahaloz for thinking of me!

Re that yarn: I would think “meltdown” would be bold, angry colors, but maybe the person who named the yarn was thinking of ice cream melting. . .

Stitchjones! Sharon has lovely fibers to spin. Haven’t spun any of the rambouillet by itself yet. The stuff I spun was from Spinner’s Hill and batts mixed with Finn, Corriedale and silk and mohair.

The “Meltdown” is so unusual! The fibers is ART in itself even before being created into something by craft. Longhorns are such proud steers. Nothing like the milking cattle I grew up with at the dairy! LOL Good shots of them!
