I guess I like try post now and den, even doe I stay exhausted, not sleeping good, and just trying foa put one foot in front of da odda one.

Dis is da tiny hale ontop Tantalus wea I wen spend da first four years of my life. Was like one jungle up dea, yeah? From dis shack my faddah and maddah wen watch Pearl Harbor getting bombed. My faddah stay armed wit dis 1900 bayonet cuz da news reports wen tellum dat da Japanese soldiers stay coming up da hill (not true).

Dis was much befoa I was born… but I heard da stories. Two weeks ago, we wen find dat bayonet in one cupboard. My braddah like have it, and I think he should. I can jass picture my dad back den, defender of him and his wahine, as da sound of planes and bombs stay going off everywea and black smoke stay filling da air.
