I just had to add this one, too. Kamahaʻo Haumea is an amazing musician!

We happened to be home during last year’s song contest (and were watching because Mom & Dad’s neighbors’ kids attend Kamehameha) and was just GOBSMACKED by Kamaha`o. He’s such a great entertainer NOW that I can’t wait to see what else he does in the future.
Another keiki to watch: Ka`ihi Kimokeo, son of Kamuela Kimokeo (part of the band Hi`ikua and who regularly performs with Jerry Santos, who is formerly of Olomana). Ka`ihi has the falsetto of an angel and plays guitar and `ukulele.
These young men give me hope for Hawaiian music and culture!
Yeah, Kamahaʻo is amazing, and I think he has a great future ahead of him. He is such a wonderful performer already.
Mahalo for telling me about Kaʻihi. Yes, hope for the future for sure! I love Hiʻikua band so much, especially their song Kuʻu Hoa. Chicken skin every time. I’ve been watching some of Jerry Santos’ videos lately, and love his music and his manaʻo.
