365 Days 2024, July 1-5

July 1st

Daily hummingbird.
Cool spider webs along our rock wall!
Kalakoa cuteness.
Spinnin’..
Daily pīpī…the moms. The kids venture further and further away from them these days.
I love the way the sun is shining over the Olson’s farm.

July 2nd

Everything else is in shadow but near the Olsons.
Not a daylily! And very pretty.
Nuthatch at the suet feeder.
More spinning happened.
Wow! Four pīpī!

July 3rd

Sleepy osprey chick.
Eh…u stay talking about me?
Daily hummingbird.

July 4th

Merlin’s bird of the day. I used to have one around here, but the dumbass starlings chased it out.
I finished spinning these two. Kalakoa helped me.

Despite how dry and hot it’s been, people still shoot off fireworks. They remind me of a day sixteen years ago.

5 July

I knit this blankie for my special grand-nephew; now that his folks have it, I can post the photo. I have their permission to post it. He is so adorable!!

Oak tree at the retinologist’s today. It was so stinkin’ hot that after taking the photo I waited for Nolemana in the grocery store.
Daily hummingbird.

I understand why your cutie-pie grandnephew is so happy–he has a beautiful blankie made with love just for him!

I’ve never seen a nuthatch, but I’ve heard them in our ‘hood. I hear they’re hard to spot (unless you’re generous and have a feeder) 😉

I hate starlings. They rip up my plants. I understand they do it to line their nests, which reduces parasites that bother their chicks, but I still hate them.

Your lilies are gorgeous. And Kalakoa could not be any cuter.

I hate fireworks in our ‘hood. Some lolo started a small fire that burned a couple of trees and most of a fence up the street from us. They’re lucky the fire didn’t extend to any of the nearby houses.

I love the way Nuthatches sound like Volkswagen Beetle horns! At least to me they do.

People were shooting off fireworks here even just last weekend. And it’s so hot and dry still yet.

I share your feelings about the starlings; when they have nestlings, they come in hordes to kakaroach the suet in my feeders. And they’re so noisy. Not to mention that they’re not even native.
