365 Days 2024, January 18th/Icemaggedon – Thursday

We couldn’t do food deliveries today because we couldn’t get down our driveway; it was so weird to be staying home on a Thursday. Dave, our partner in crime, was able to get to the realty office and pick up the light load for his peeps. This is our driveway…solid ice.

The tire tracks are from Jake’s mighty pickup when he got up here the other day.
It looks pretty wintery out there!
It’s hard to tell, but melting is definitely beginning to happen.

Obake daily hummingbird.
Can you see him?
Yep…melting definitely started. But you can see that the road down there is still frozen.
Above freezing!!
Daily hummingbird wannabe.
Nolemana treading carefully on the ice to go feed and water the doves.
I ended up throwing out some seed for the Junco since that’s where he seemed to want to stay.
Bushtits and a Junco.

Lots of manu in this video: Bushtits, Juncos, House Finches, and Chickadees!

Hairy Woodpecker.
At the end of the day, back to freezing we go.

Wow. Dat is some scaaaaaaary ice. I love the juncos trying to get in on the suet action among the bushtits. I also love that I can hear some slack key guitar–is that Led?

So glad you liked da slack key… it does sound a lot like Led, yeah? If I remember right, it’s Kimo West. The ice was so scary for sure… I’ve had my fill of it for quite awhile! I love when the bushtits come around and wish they’d stay all year long.
