365 Days 2023, Numbah Sixty-Eight

September 8th

Clouds lurking over the hills.
Daily hummingbird.
A very wide daily pīpī… Lani Moo. And Hōkū under the apple tree.
Bessie resting in the sunshine. She’s even wider!

September 9th

Daily pīpī… Lani Moo and Hōkū up near the driveway.
Daily hummingbird.
Ron came over to build a framework for the 3/4- gravel we’re putting down.

September 10th

Daily hummingbird acrobatics.
Be still my heart!!! Gorgeous old Caddy at Bi-Mart today. Her owner graciously gave me permission to take the photo.
Chree daily pīpī. Look how big Bessie’s getting! Calving time will come in December. I wonder if she knows what’s going on!

Mahaloz fo’ all da pīpī pitchas! Bless Bessie! I’m curious to see what her calf will look like. Soooooo glad we seem to be done with smoke season for the year (insert crossed fingers here).

I think Bessie’s keiki will probably start off brown like Hōkū did. I hope it has a white face, too. Plenny farmers around here have started burning their burn piles so I can still smell smoke, but it’s the pleasant kind, thank goodness.
