August 16th

Daily hummingbird and four Goldfinches!
Spinning Pansy.
Oh my gosh… we had wind last night and try look all the leaves that fell. And it’s still August!!

August 17th

Daily hummingbird.
A huge covey of quail at the bottom of our driveway!!! I loved seeing them!!
The house across the road is coming along well.
Food delivery day.
Daily pīpī underneath the apple tree.
Wow… the trees on Butler Road are already turning. No can believe!
Daily pīpī in the evening.
Impatiens and Pineapple Lily.
And ripe tomatoes in the garden!

August 18th

Daily hummingbird.
Acrobatic daily hummingbird.
Daily pīpī.

August 19th

Daily hummingbird.
Knitting with my handspun.
My wonderful gardenia, reminding me of home.

And for a special treat: Jake came over this evening; he’s teaching the cows to come when he whistles to them. It’s so much fun watching them running down the hill from the forest!

August 20th

Daily hummingbirds…me outside!
It sure was smoky outside.
I was still outside… check out da tail!

Jake was here today cleaning out the barn.

    Thank you for teaching me about pineapple lilies–I had never heard of them before. And wow, laulau, your smoke was really bad. I’m jealous of your goldfinches and quail. I only seem to see the goldfinches in the spring, but I also know their plumage changes when they’re out of mating season. I’ve been known to run for treats too. ;-P

      Haha… I run for treats, too…. but do we moo? LOL. The Goldfinches look pretty bland when it’s not breeding season… kinda speckled, in a way. I was amazed to find the pineapple lily and just had to get it!
