Daily hummingbird on a cloudy morning.Bumblebee on lavender. It’s so hard to get a non-blurry photo!
It’s also hard to get some spinning done when my chair is occupied!
Da daily pīpī.Da daily pīpī again.
I love this photo of all da pīpī! Lani Moo and Hōkū in front. See how much darker Hōkū is now? Also, do you notice anything interesting about Bessie?

Auē, auē… Lahaina is burning! I spent so many happy hours here, and my heart aches for all my people.I spent many hours underneath the banyan tree. I hope it survives. And my heart goes out to all the people dead, or unaccounted for.

Daily hummingbird.Huge Mallow flower at the office where we pick up da kau kau.Mt. Everest food deliveries coming to get unloaded and sorted. Ho da tall!!Ready to go home for more sorting.Daily pīpī and Andrew, our incredible helper, taking the rubbish bins from the burn pile back up to where he was working.Pau food deliveries, I drove Nolemana to his ophthalmologist appointment in Lake Oswego, and sat knitting underneath “my” oak tree.

Is Bessie hāpai? Do da pīpī eat da apples?
I can’t believe there’s still so much chaos and disorganization in Lahaina in trying to figure out who is alive and who is missing.
I hope you guys aren’t getting bad wildfire smoke.
You’re a great observer! Yes, Bessie is hāpai! Her calf is due in November! And they’ve eaten a few apples which are not quite ripe yet. I expect they’ll eat more in a few weeks.
So true about Lahaina, yeah? About missing people, about how the fire started, the barricades, etc. No wonder everyone’s so frustrated.
We’ve had bad wildfire smoke…there’s one burning near Sandy, not too far from us.
