365 Days 2023, Numbah Forty

Ho, July already. How is that possible?

July 1st

Today, Jake came back with his brush hog and did a great job cutting down some scrub bushes and trees for us.

The approach.
I always hate to get rid of growing things, but this one made mowing the pasture difficult. And it’s not like we don’t have lots of other trees around!

Then Jake came up down below the lānai and got a bunch of blackberries out. I love watching this kind of stuff! Sorry for the jerky videos…the sun was right in my eyes and I was trying to avoid it.

Bye bye blackberries!
The blackberries didn’t stand a chance.

Jake headed back down the pasture…it was amazing how fast that thing could move!

I started spinning for the 2023 Tour de Fleece today while Kalakoa kept me company.
Daily hummingbird peeking out.
My finished skein. I’m really pleased with it.

July 2nd

Try look how clean and nice the pasture looks now!

Daily hummingbird showing some color. It was hard to get a good photo of him because he kept moving. His gorget shone so beautifully in the sunshine!
The Zinnias are starting open!

So I was spinning and watching Stage 2 of the Tour de France, and try look what I saw! I had to take a photo of these cows for AFK!! This was in the Basque country of Spain.

Just as a teaser, if all goes well, I’m going to have a surprise photo for AFK, too, within the next couple of days. Stay tuned, my friend!
