Two-Day Road Trip to Leavenworth, Chapter Three

K’den, this is our turnoff, just past the field of field corn. Ha ha.
And here we are! I’d researched coffee shops online, and this one got great reviews. See the cool rooster ontop da roof? Fiddles Coffee House. Highly recommended!
I got a strawberry lemonade and I forget what Nolemana got.
They had cool signs like this all over.
Part of the menu.
See what I mean? Shaka dis!
They had a bunch of merch, too.
I loved that they had kids’ artwork all over the wall.
There was lots of tea in jars, too.
And yummy looking snacks, too.
This was our wrap, which we split. It was plenty for both of us. We ate it on the road because no like waste time. This was a great stop. The staff was super friendly, the place was clean as a whistle, and the food and drinks were great. I left a 5-star review on Google about this wonderful coffee shop.
Uh-oh. More traffic congestion.
We crossed over the Yakima River. It was about 93°.
Can you see the railroad trestle in the distance? There was a historical marker there, but we just didn’t have time to stop.
Guess what? More road construction.
My friend, Nancy, used to live in Ellensburg. Nancy and I have been friends since we were 12 years old back in Hawaiʻi. We’ve never lost touch with each other throughout the years. What a treasure! Of kers, we’re still not much older than twelve, right Nancy?
Up ahead is the sign for Highway 12/White Pass, which we’ll be taking on our way home. Check out the houses up on the hillside!
I bet it’s really windy up there.
Cool pond. I wonder if wildlife ever visit here.
This hill almost looks like a pyramid, yeah?
Rocky gully. We’re now on Highway 82 as well as I-97
S Umtanum Ridge. Elevation 2265′. It was now 1:23 pm.
And on we go.
We didn’t take tons of photos here…because the scenery didn’t change very much.
We actually didn’t see the creek, but trusted that it was there.
I-90 coming up. If we’d wanted to, we could’ve followed it all the way to Montana!

Here’s what it looks like on the map. Highway 82 ends, just lidat.

And with that, I’ll end this chapter. More next time.
