Aloha ʻOe, Oregon Big-Leaf Maple, Chapter Chree

So after lunch, they were back at it again.

I’ll start with a video or two; I get plenny!

Try look! He just climbs up there wikiwiki as if the height is no big deal! I love hearing the sound of his spikes in the tree.

I got a good shot of his spikes.

Here’s the guy running the chipper.

I’m just gonna upload a buncha miscellaneous photos for you folks. This guy’s getting more and more higher up.  It was kinda scary, but very interesting, watching him up there, just as casual as could be.

K’den, here’s a bunch more photos… no captions needed.

Try look all the sawdust coming down!

Test: Find the tree monkey!

Oh! There he is!

Whew. Enough adrenaline for now… hope you enjoyed the photos. More to come.

Aue–he really IS high off the ground! Makes my feet sweat to see how far up he is. I’m glad you included the shot with your roof to give perspective of how high up he is. Thank goodness for those brave and skilled enough to handle this kind of work.

It was cold when I was taking the photos…and I had chicken skin from that and then even more when he climbed up so high. I’m grateful for his skill, too, and for the skill of Ed, down on the ground, helping to manage all the ropes and carefully watching to make sure everything was going as it should. I’d never be brave enough to climb up that high!
